Sarasota Wedding Planner

Every girl waits for the day,

Her perfect man proposes in a special way.

Ever since she was a little girl,

Playing around with mom’s pearls.

She’s dreamed of her wedding day.

Hair perfect in place,

Gown made of beautiful lace.

All dressed in white,

For pictures in perfect light.

She walks with her father down the aisle,

She cries tears of joy all the while.

Her husband to be is slightly shaking,

As his bride is amazingly breath taking.

They say their vows and share a kiss,

They are now bonded with love and bliss.

They depart to a romantic wedding retreat,

As they relax in their honeymoon suite.

The bond they share is so strong,

They are destined to love for long.

Waking up on her wedding day,

She tells her pup there’s no time to play.

She gets her stuff and she’s on her way,

Her puppy’s tail sways and sways.

Getting ready with the girls,

Putting on her something borrowed, pearls.

Her garter is her something blue.

Mom walks in with a present or two.

She opens the first, a tiara, something new.

She can’t stop crying she needs a tissue.

All that is left is something old,

Her Grandma’s locket, she desired to hold.

It’s present two mom gave to her.

She puts it on and life becomes a blur.

Remember all that are close to her.

She puts her beautiful bride gown on.

Her puppy escort awaits on the lawn.

She begins her journey with her pup and mom.

Down to the alter to her handsome groom.

They say their vows and kiss I do.

They love each other so much and her puppy too.

Their lifelong dream begins to bloom.

Two years later a baby arrives.

Her puppy looks with big wide eyes.

The love they share is such a strong bond.

Their family journey continues on.

Sarasota Wedding Planner

I met this couple last week,

And their theme is antique.

We shop at flea markets,

To find the right targets.

We pick up a few things,

From plates to napkin rings.

They love vintage too,

And their color is French blue.

We will set up decorations,

With our unique creations!

From suitcases to bird cages

And antique book pages.

I will create a vision,

With exact precision.

After they say I do,

They send out a big thank you!

To the happy couple,

May you always want to cuddle!

Their décor was one of a kind,

And it will be remembered in our minds.

What a great wedding day of love,

We are so glad to be a part of.

The newlyweds left in a restored truck,

We wish them all the best of luck!

Have Katie Aldrich excite your next big event with a dessert bar!

Something big this era!

Dessert Bars!

They are becoming ever more popular this era with new modern brides doing away with the wedding cake entirely!  I have done a few blogs on wedding cakes and the modern brides having candy bars in addition to their wedding cake and even cupcakes and other cake desserts instead of a wedding cake, but no cake at all?  How odd.

Found on my website, http://www.myblushingbrides.com/, I have the history and tradition of the wedding cake:

The Wedding Cake
You might find it interesting that; originally, the cake was not eaten by but thrown at the bride! It developed as one of the many fertility traditions surrounding a wedding. Wheat too, is traditionally a symbol of fruitfulness and was among the earliest grains (predating rice) to be ceremoniously showered on the bride and groom. In its earliest origins, the unmarried young women attending the wedding were expected to scramble for the grains to ensure their own betrothals, much as they do today for the bridal bouquet.
Early Roman bakers, we are told, changed the "throw it" to the "eat it" tradition. These bakers were distinguished and respected in their trades. Somewhere around 100 BCE they began taking the wedding wheat and creating small, sweet cakes with it; the cakes were eaten while the service was in progress.

So for all my modern brides out there here are some lovely, creative bite sized delicious yummies for your dessert bar!

Cannoli – an Italian favorite
Mini Cupcakes – my personal favorite
Mini Brownies
Mini Cheesecakes Bites
Meringue
Whoopie Pies – my personal favorite
Petites – my personal favorite
Cookies
Rice Crispy Treats
Tiramisu – cute to pile it in a shot glass for added décor
Ice cream – also cute to pile it in a shot glass for added décor
Chocolate Covered Strawberries – my personal favorite

Anther popular trend you can add to this: chocolate fountain with dippable foods!

The options are endless!

Fun Facts & Traditions

Hey grooms you’ll get a kick out of this!

The tradition of the Best Man standing with the Groom at the Groom’s wedding all started with a little something called kidnapping!

The Best Man
Many centuries ago, before the women's rights movement, men who had decided upon a wife often had to forcefully take her with him (or kidnap her) if her family did not approve of him. The tradition of a "best man" probably has its origin with the Germanic Goths, when it was customary and preferable for a man to marry a woman from within his own community. When women came into short supply "locally," eligible bachelors would have to seek out and capture a bride from a neighboring community. As you might guess this was not a one-person operation and so the future bridegroom would be accompanied by a male companion who would help. Our custom of the best man is a throwback to that two-man, strong-armed tactic, for; of course the future groom would select only the best man he knew to come long for such an important task. The role of the best man evolved.

Brides imagine being kidnapped in the middle of the night to marry a man you may have never even met before!  How scary would that be?

My husband brought up a good point that men really had “possession” over women till around the 60’s when the first few women’s rights protests were just beginning.

Which brings us to our next quirky fact: Giving Away The Bride

The father who "gives away" his daughter at her wedding ceremony is following an ancient tradition that has evolved over hundreds, if not thousands, of years. The custom dates back to the time when a daughter was considered property, and the groom had to pay a price to her family before he could be permitted to marry his intended.

How crazy it is to think nowadays that women were really and truly once considered property and on top of that it was only roughly 60 years ago! Whoa!
These are just two of the interesting facts that can be found on my website.  www.MyBlushingBrides.com

Unique wedding favors are on the rise.  Many individuals are choosing edible favors such as cookies, chocolates, Jordan almonds, mnms with pictures on them, fortune cookies, lollipops even bags of coffee.  I like these because you do not feeling like you are wasting money on something that they will take home and put on shelf or maybe even throw away.  Some cute new edible favors are
