Jersey Wedding Dress

Hello Brides & Grooms!

Have you seen this article?

It is about a bride how made her wedding dress out of her soon to be husband’s jersey.  I am surprised that her soon to be husband would let her.  I took a tee shirt quilt class and my husband said I could make a quilt out of his VW tees and I said no you still wear them.  I would feel bad cutting up something like that whether he wouldn’t mind or not.

I think it has a lot of sentimental value for the two joining their life together using his stuff as the materials for her dress.  I just don’t think that I could do this out of someone else’s stuff even if they say it is ok.

Tell me what you think.  Is this a bad or good idea?

Wedding Dresses New Fall 2012 Trend!

Hey brides, grooms and fellow bloggers!

The newest trend in wedding dresses has to do with a particular color.  Try to guess is it ivory, crème or a soft pink?  Not even close…it’s black!  Wait a black wedding dress, you’re kidding right?  Nope!  Vera Wang, one of the world’s biggest names in wedding fashion and couture presented a line of 7 black wedding gowns for the fall 2012 bridal season.

What are your thoughts on this new trend?

I think white should be the color of choice because represents purity and the beginning of a new life (with your husband).  Many women are choosing ivory and crèmes for their bridal gown.  Pink is becoming ever more popular especially on shows like Say Yes to the Dress.  Dresses with splashes of color on the train or sash on the dress are more common now too.  However, this is your big day!  Do you want something every bride is thinking about too?  Think outside the box whether it is a short gown, over the top huge ball gown, colored or even black!  It’s your big day wear something you love!

1st Year Wedding Anniversary Gifts

Hey everyone!

Is your first year wedding anniversary coming up like mine is?

Husbands, do you not know what in the world to get for your wife?

Did you know the traditional first year anniversary wedding gift is paper?

Paper, think about it.  It can be quite boring or can it?

For all my readers out there about to celebrate their first year wedding anniversary check out this creative fun and very memorable paper present idea!

You can upload or email a photo of your wife’s wedding dress and have it sketched and framed for their paper gift!  It is unique and wonderful gift idea.  It is becoming more and more popular among the less rich and famous.  The Hollywood stars are able to have their designer sketch their wedding dress for them as a keepsake and now you can do the same!  There are two websites I found that can make this happen!

One is from an artist in France.

The other is an artist that sells her work on etsy.com.

Just something I came across and wanted to share with you!

Wedding Dress Styles

Wedding dress styles are becoming more and more creative and modern.  There are the traditional classic ball gown styles and then there are wedding dresses that hit just below the knee.  I was more of a modern bride for my 2010 nuptials with my husband.  I had a short white lace wedding gown with a sweetheart neck line which fit my petite frame and personality perfectly.  I love the unique values that can make a wedding fit the couple and not a cookie cutter wedding.  Wedding dresses are one of the most important garments a woman wears in her lifetime.  This dress should fit your frame and personality to have the complete look of confidence and beauty.  With so many styles, options and designs no bride should settle for a dress.
As the styles of the dresses are changing the fabrics are too.  Wedding dresses come in the traditional lace and satin fabrics and are now coming in cotton for the eco friendly or casual woman.
Some great websites to check out for the latest and greatest wedding dress are:
Of course David’s Bridal and Alfred Angelo, two well known bridal gown retailers.
The Cotton Bride offers all the elegance and beauty as a lace or satin wedding dress but it is entirely made out of cotton!  That’s right ladies all the comfort and simplicity of cotton in a wedding dress.
