Sarasota Wedding Planner

Every girl waits for the day,

Her perfect man proposes in a special way.

Ever since she was a little girl,

Playing around with mom’s pearls.

She’s dreamed of her wedding day.

Hair perfect in place,

Gown made of beautiful lace.

All dressed in white,

For pictures in perfect light.

She walks with her father down the aisle,

She cries tears of joy all the while.

Her husband to be is slightly shaking,

As his bride is amazingly breath taking.

They say their vows and share a kiss,

They are now bonded with love and bliss.

They depart to a romantic wedding retreat,

As they relax in their honeymoon suite.

The bond they share is so strong,

They are destined to love for long.

Antique Theme Wedding

I met this couple last week,

And their theme is antique.

We shop at flea markets,

To find the right targets.

We pick up a few things,

From plates to napkin rings.

They love vintage too,

And their color is French blue.

We will set up decorations,

With our unique creations!

From suitcases to bird cages

And antique book pages.

I will create a vision,

With exact precision.

After they say I do,

They send out a big thank you!

To the happy couple,

May you always want to cuddle!

Their décor was one of a kind,

And it will be remembered in our minds.

What a great wedding day of love,

We are so glad to be a part of.

The newlyweds left in a restored truck,

We wish them all the best of luck!

Wedding footwear by Katie Aldrich Sarasota Planner

Here is an interesting fact about the shoes that are worn by a bride:

Shoes Tied on the Car Bumper

Brides' shoes once were considered to be symbols of authority and possession. They used to be taken from her when she was led to the wedding place, and given to the groom by her father, affecting the transfer of his authority to her husband and as a sign that the husband now had possession of her (and she couldn't run away). The new husband then tapped her on the head to show his new role as her master.

It is obvious why this doesn't continue, but it helps to explain why we tie shoes to the back of the get-away car. Incidentally, the ever-popular horn honking has its beginnings in the days when brides traveled in open carriages. They were an easy target for evil spirits, so defenders would use bells and firecrackers to scare them away. No chance of any spirits getting in your way -- it's honeymoon or bust!

Women are always on the hunt for their perfect pair of shoes and when it comes to their wedding day there is no exception.  Brides worry about the shoes just as much as the dress. Their shoes have to match the dress and if they are having a party dress they will need a second pair of shoes.  There are so many reasons for women to buy shoes their wedding day is just one more but more special.

There are so many styles of shoes that a bride must figure out her taste, style and comfort level.

There are style trendsetter brides, simple brides, diva brides, extravagant brides and even country western brides.  I love finding shoes that can go with a bridal gown but also be worn after the wedding for special occasions or every day use.

Wedding Dresses New Fall 2012 Trend!

Hey brides, grooms and fellow bloggers!

The newest trend in wedding dresses has to do with a particular color.  Try to guess is it ivory, crème or a soft pink?  Not even close…it’s black!  Wait a black wedding dress, you’re kidding right?  Nope!  Vera Wang, one of the world’s biggest names in wedding fashion and couture presented a line of 7 black wedding gowns for the fall 2012 bridal season.

What are your thoughts on this new trend?

I think white should be the color of choice because represents purity and the beginning of a new life (with your husband).  Many women are choosing ivory and crèmes for their bridal gown.  Pink is becoming ever more popular especially on shows like Say Yes to the Dress.  Dresses with splashes of color on the train or sash on the dress are more common now too.  However, this is your big day!  Do you want something every bride is thinking about too?  Think outside the box whether it is a short gown, over the top huge ball gown, colored or even black!  It’s your big day wear something you love!

Cakes VS Cupcakes

The great debate of the 21st century is of the cake species!  What to have at a wedding or a special event: cakes or cupcakes?

Cakes are formal, elegant and classic.  Cakes can be decorated with dazzling embellishments or left simple and classic.  Cupcakes are fun, pretty and cute.  Cupcakes are becoming more popular than ever at events.  Cupcakes are popping up because you know how many to order exactly if you are on a tight budget allowing individuals to have one cupcake.  However, in my personal experience your guests are more likely to eat more than one.  You can have them in multiple flavors and as many as you want instead of 4 layers of cake with 4 flavors.  If you have 100 cupcakes you could have 100 flavors literally! J Cupcakes are an easy more convenient type of dessert that you can dress up for any special occasion.

I chose cupcakes for my wedding and they were made by Heavenly Cupcakes of Sarasota, Florida and they turned out beautiful and they tasted even better!  My husband and I were even able to have them bake a large cupcake so we could put our unique and personable wedding cake topper on top and cut that as husband and wife and also save it for our 1 year wedding anniversary.  Plus my own personal theory was if my loving and caring husband was going to try to smash my face with cake for our cake cutting ceremony, I was going to start throwing cupcakes one by one at him J luckily it didn’t come to that!

I love cupcakes because you can choose different frostings, flavors, colors and even individual embellishments and decorations for each cupcake.  A great idea I thought of was have the cupcakes as the wedding favors by putting the guests name on each cupcake and also have a display of cupcakes incase your guests wanted more than 1 each.  You could also have the individual cupcakes that for your favors in cute little boxes that match your theme or colors.

I have shared some pictures form my wedding and some more from Heavenly Cupcakes website:
